A few words about me
My name is John Katsiotis. I come from Greece and the past few year I develop Web Applications using ASP.NET. I am a Microsoft MVP in ASP.NET since 2008. I am a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in ASP.NET 3.5 and 4.0 and also in ADO.NET 3.5 and 4.0 and a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer in ASP.NET(3.5/4.0).
I often attend seminars like Teched (2009, 2010, 2011), DevReach, IT Pro | Dev Connections etc. I am giving several technical presentations regarding ASP.NET and .NET Framework in events organized by Greek tech communities like StudentGuru and Dotnetzone. Those presentations are both online (via Live Meetings) and offline. Most of the times take place in Greek.
Currently I am working A LOT with Entity Framework (both v1.0 and v4.0) ASP.NET Webforms, and ASP.NET MVC. I am a huge fan of O/R Mappers and try to use them as much as I can. Although Entity Framework has some issues it's still remaining my favorite ORM and then nHibernate is following.
For the past two year I have been working at Institute for the Management of Information Systems and in my time there I have participated in several projects (a few examples are eSecurity, DigiLodge, eParents, EduOffers, Diodos), which are mostly for goverment agencies.
Also I am exploring Workflow Foundation 4.0 in order to build some complex and flexible Workflow senarios.
On top of that I am a proud owner of Steel FM, a Webradio I created back at 2007 for a group of students passionate about music and life in general! Music is mostly Rock/Alternative.
Did I mention that I 've graduated from Athens Univesity of Economics and business, Computer Science Department? If not my mistake!
